The cottage was built around 1810 for Richard Butler, 1st Earl of Glengall, and was likely designed by the renowned architect John Nash. It was never meant to be lived in full-time — instead, it served as a retreat where guests could picnic, enjoy nature, and escape the formality of everyday estate life.

Inside, you’ll find spiral staircases, curved doors, and beautifully restored rooms filled with Regency-period furnishings. The attention to detail and craftsmanship make it a real treat for anyone interested in architecture, history, or interior design.
